The more you read the Bible, the more you understand that there are only two types of people in this world: God’s child or Satan’s. In John 8, Jesus rebukes the Jews for thinking they are Abraham’s descendants merely because they are literally from Abraham’s line (race, religion, etc.) Yet Jesus calls them out for being Satan’s children since Satan is a murderer and liar – John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
While some people in church may cringe or frown when they see my self-identification of not being ‘of God’ – I think what I’m saying/ declaring is Scripturally right as well as consistent with the Bible though.
For the people who have tried to debate me back into Christianity since leaving – save it for the fool who cannot read the Bible. I agree that I don’t ‘get the truth’ but I understand the Bible story. I know what I am at this point in my life, don’t worry.
Addressing the Christians who have said a variety of nonsense to me to get me to return:
- A Christian from _o_ _ _it_ (Wordle time!) said that the reason he is a Christian is because he is afraid of suffering in hell and proceeded to ask me to think about the suffering. I just told him that I won’t be able to live under a God I don’t agree with in heaven, so hell would be better.
- A Christian from _a_ _ a_ _a_ _ i _ _ _h_ _ _ h (Wordle time!), said that I should be a Christian because everyone we know is a Christian and I’ll be lonely in hell. What. Just. What?
- A Christian from _ E _ _ (Wordle time!) said that I should stop being angry with God and pray that I can accept the thing I’m struggling with. I then asked her to allow her daughter to go through what I did and have her ask her daughter to forgive God for allowing it to happen.
- A Christian from _M _ C (Wordle time!) started sending me links on how others have overcome their struggles. It’s not about seeing someone inspirational overcome this, so don’t send me YT links of people who have overcome it. It’s very much a personal war.
- A Christian from _ I _ (Wordle time!), tried the Christianity Explored questions with me to corner me into saying Jesus is the only way. -_- I was a CE facilitator… hello.
- A Christian from _ _ M_ (Wordle time!) spam called me and said she won’t eat until I became Christian again. I just told her she’ll finally be able to reach her diet weight. 😉
- A Christian from _ _ _ C (Wordle time!) asked me if I left because of him. Why would I leave the church for a guy? -______-
Needless to say, I have friends with good intentions but may not be very theologically sound when it comes to why one stays/leaves church.
